IT WAS IN A FEDERAL COURTROOM in 1993 that Breck Seiniger’s passion for kayaking intersected with his talent for aggressive litigation—and his fearlessness in taking on powerful corporate defendants.
Breck was representing an Idaho inventor in a patent infringement suit over kayak design. Years earlier, Breck had met the designer while boating Idaho’s roughest rivers, and Breck’s success at trial confirmed his growing reputation as one of the area’s top trial lawyers. Breck was featured in an article about the case in the American Bar Association Journal.
For Breck’s peers, the case cemented the image of Breck as a “David” willing to take on Goliath. These days, Breck’s time on the rivers is spent more as a father teaching his teenage kids to develop the skills and enjoy the thrills of kayaking. Breck’s wife, Julie Seiniger, is also an attorney at Seiniger Law Offices, and they have a family of four children.
“In mentoring my kids, I was reminded of how the lessons I learned on the river had found their way into my approach to practicing law,” Breck says. “The key to attacking the rapids is knowledge and preparedness. Always respect the dangers presented by your opponent, facing them head-on when necessary but keeping an eye open for a more creative, more effective approach. Most importantly, remember to stop along the way to help others who may be trapped in the currents.”
It is that commitment to helping others that led Breck into the field of personal injury law. “I saw an opportunity to bring compassion into a process that so often seems to ignore the real impact that a severe injury has on the lives of the victims and their families,” Breck recalls. “I wanted my clients to know that they come first, and that as a family man myself, I can understand what they are going through.”

 JULIE MARSH SEINIGER was one of the first female attorneys in the legal department of what was then the Boise Cascade Corp. She graduated from Purdue University (B.S., with honors) and from law school at George Washington University (J.D.) in the early 1980's. She is a Phi Beta Kappa and is admitted to the Bar in Washington, D.C., Idaho, and Indiana.
Julie may also be one of the only attorneys in the region who is also a certified massage therapist. “I saw how much pain our firm’s injury clients suffered, and I wanted to educate myself on better ways to help them,” she says.
